Obituary of Sherry (Sheryl) Ann Hilton

Sheryl Ann “Sherry” Hilton, age 71 of Fort Walton Beach, FL passed away in her home January 29, 2024. 

She was born in Valparaiso, FL on November 30, 1952 to Howard H. Hilton and Geraldine DeFoor “Jerrie” Hilton (Bunn), both now deceased.  Her siblings were Rhonda Hilton Therrien (John Tasis), Dennis M. Hilton, Randall Wayne Hilton (deceased) and Lisa Hilton LeClair (Leighton LeClair, Jr)., She is survived by nieces, Letitia Garofalo (Anthony J. Garofalo), Jessica Hilton; Nephews, Byron M. Hilton, Kevin H. LeClair (Rebecca LeClair), Dustin E. LeClair (Shelley), and great nieces and nephews, and many friends; She lived most of her life in the Fort Walton Beach area, graduated from Choctawhatchee High School and attended Okaloosa-Walton Jr. College. 

Sherry held diverse positions such as waitress, proofreader, floral arranger and representative for a tech company, but she was happiest sharing her greatest talent on stage singing. She performed vocals with bands both locally and in other areas. She was happiest during her music career, singing blues, jazz, pop and oldies. A fond family memory was after the holiday meals she would say she had to go rehearse, getting out of dishwashing duty. Her laughter and buoyant personality from those times will be missed. 

 

A celebration of Sherry’s life will be held at a later date.
