Obituary of Marianne Helen Holcomb

Mrs. Marianne Helen (Penree) Holcomb, 65, of Destin, Florida, passed away on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at HCA Florida West Hospital, after a long battle with cardiovascular problems.

Marianne was born in Utica, NY, on May 2, 1959, the daughter of George M. and Dorthy E. Penree. She attended TR Proctor High School in Utica, NY. In 2000, she moved to Destin, Florida, from Upstate New York with her children to marry David Holcomb.

Marianne is remembered for her strength of character, enduring all that life brought her. Her honesty shone through in everything she did. She was the most loving and caring person there ever was, and she had a heart of gold. She was a full-time homemaker and a mother to all close to her.

She is survived by her husband, David Holcomb, the love of her life, married for 24 years on June 14, 2025, before the Lord called her home. Her children include Kimberly A. and Christopher Schaible, Francis E. Foley II, and her stepdaughter, Tiffany P. Holcomb. She also leaves behind her grandchildren: Audrina and Brooklyn Schaible; Tanner Christopher; Kali Beasley; and her siblings: Barbra and John Deshane; Joseph Penree; and Bethanne Kraft and her partner, Lonnie Grimes. Additionally, she leaves many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Dorthy Penree; her brothers, Georgie and Gregory Penree; and her sister, Beverly Chesebro.
