Obituary of eric jamieson roy jr.

Eric Jamieson Roy Jr., of Destin passed away on the afternoon of Sunday, April 3, 2022 at 31 years of age. Eric was born May 25, 1990 in Fort Walton Beach, Florida to the late, Eric (Rick) Jamieson Roy Sr. and Gayle Shirah Roy. Eric is reunited in heaven with his father, Eric (Rick) Jamison Roy Sr.; both set of grandparents, and other ancestors. He leaves behind his mother, Gayle Shirah Roy; sisters, Cassie McKeithan (husband Perry), Caryn Hurst (husband Kerry), and Angela Roy along with his niece, nephews, cousins plus a countless amount of other family and friends. Eric was better known as the smarts of the family, especially when it came to physics and calculus. He graduated from Fort Walton Beach High School in 2009 as Magna Cum Laude. After high school, he studied at University of West Florida, Tallahassee Community College, and Florida State University. When Eric wasn't busy outsmarting his peers and teachers, you could find him on the water with a fishing pole. He loved the outdoors and anything that involved fishing. Eric had a heart of gold, the sweetest personality and could never meet a stranger. Proud of his heritage as the 5th generation of a founding family of Destin and it's fishing history. His legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of everyone he ever interacted with, and he will be sadly missed. Luckily for Eric, he is finally reunited with his father and now spending his days fishing with Dad, Uncle Jimmy, Grandaddy Shirah and Jesus.
