Obituary of joey frank gonzales

Joey Frank Gonzales, 64, passed away on November 24, 2021 at his Shalimar home after an extended battle with cancer. He was born in Fort Walton Beach, FL to late Juan and Barbara Gonzales. Other than his parents, Joey is preceded in death by his brother Butch Gonzales and niece, January Gonzales. Family was important to Joey. He greatly enjoyed seeing his daughters and grandchildren. He was a strong influence in helping to raise his grandson and namesake Joey as well as Zoey his granddaughter. Joey was a successful small business owner for many years, in the construction industry. His jobs included government contracting for Eglin Air Force Base and Hurlburt Field. After his retirement, he provided consulting work with other small businesses until his passing. Outside of being a devout member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Joey particularly enjoyed motorsports. He owned a speedboat he was very proud of, and he also was fond of Harley-Davidson motorcycles, and 4-wheeling. He is survived by his adopted brother Francisco "Paco" Navarro; sisters, Georgia Leyser (Rick), and Cindy Gaskin (Don); daughters, Kristine "Kristy" Gonzales (Christopher Roth), and Kara Gonzales-Cheramie (Patrick); grandchildren, Joey Gonzales and Zoey Gonzales-Cheramie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 110 St. Mary's Ave SW, Fort Walton Beach, FL 32548 at 12:00pm, Thursday, December 2, 2021. The family will receive friends and hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow the service at Beal Memorial Cemetery.
