Obituary of robert l donaldson

Robert L Donaldson, 82, of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on October 21, 2021. Robert was born in Opp, Alabama on April 27, 1939 to Alvin and Clarice Donaldson. The family relocated to Fort Walton Beach in 1946 when he was 7. Robert was a part of the first graduating class of Choctawhatchee High School in 1957. Later he was drafted into the US Army where he served from 1961-1963 with an honorable discharge. During his time served Robert met Gloria Jean who was a nurses aid. They later married in January of 1964. The two resided in Fort Walton Beach, FL where they raised their two sons, Bob and Dan. Robert was well known as a car part encyclopedia in which he enjoyed his employment with Gene's Auto Parts for over 40 years. He spent a lot of his time under the hood of Chevrolet cars and trucks. His family and friends will always remember him as the slow talking, hands in the pocket walking, nap lover and best smile at the family fish fry. Grandaddy loved being surrounded by his family. He had a knack for children and was well loved by all. Robert is survived by wife, Gloria; sons, Bob (Tammy), Dan (Kim); brothers, Dennis (Shirley), Guy (Helen); sister, Gale Eklund (Roy); sister in-law Linda Donaldson; grandchildren, Timothy (Chrissy), Stefanie Abney (Troy), Jessica (Justin Hamilton), Levi (Shelly), Tara Doughty (Brian); great grandchildren, Kyler, Matthew, Presley, Brantley, Raegan, Wyatt, Braylon, Taylor, Riley, Kenzie, and Brooks. Many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by parents Alvin and Clarice Donaldson and brother Gordon.
