Obituary of nancy ann stevens

Nancy Ann Stevens, 86 of Niceville, Florida, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2021, after a long, hard-fought battle with cancer under the care of her daughter Anita Williams. She was “vacationing” with her daughter and son-in-law at their home in Fort Walton Beach for 3 ½ years so she could receive the care she needed. Even in the end she fought until her last breath, never acknowledging the cancer, never complaining of pain. She was fierce, strong, and independent and never asked anyone for anything. She said she wanted to live to be 120 years old and she was “One Tough Cookie”, although the cancer took her body it NEVER took her spirit so she is now enjoying life in a different way with her “Forever Love Jack. She was born in Yorkhaven, Pennsylvania on December 28, 1934, to Clarence D. Repman, Sr and Mary M. Repman. Growing up she always loved animals, especially her pet goat named Ginny. Singing was her passion, and she even made a record, and her singing coach told her mom to never let her stop singing - and she never did. Upon graduating high school, she joined the Air Force. Basic training was in San Antonio, Texas, then she came to her first duty station at Eglin Air Force Base where she met the love of her life Jack L. Stevens. They married on December 18, 1956, and were married until Jack’s passing in 1998. Nancy was a loving and devoted Wife, the Best Mother anyone could ever ask for, and a loving Nana that always gave her grandkids and great-grandkids money every time she saw them, because no one would go without, if she had anything to do with it. Family always came first. She loved to spend time with her family - cooking for everyone whenever they wanted her to. She was loved by everyone, and is remembered as the hardest working, most dedicated lady that ever lived. Her stepchildren also loved her very much. She was also known for her high heels. She started wearing them when she was only 16 years old, and her dad nicknamed her “Fancy Pants Nance.” You never saw her without her heels. She had 75 pairs and flat shoes were not acceptable to her! She always wanted to dress up because that is what a lady does. She would say, “I just don’t feel dressed without my heels.” She loved to go to the casinos. She would say gambling was “her thing!” She was pretty lucky too! She also wanted to save all the animals in the world. She loved her furbabies. Nancy LOVED her job and worked on Eglin AFB in the same job as Supervisor of Transportation for multiple contracts for 45+ years and did not retire until December 2017. She was the “Transportation Queen wearing those high heels.” She was highly respected and loved throughout the base. She knew every vehicle number by heart and knew where all those vehicles were at all times. If you needed something you called Nancy. After she retired, the department was never the same. Nobody can ever fill her shoes. She was “One Smart Cookie!” She also loved to cook for “Her Guys.” Every Christmas she would spend days making banana bread and her famous pecan brittle and deliver it to the people that meant to most to her at work and for her son Danny’s office at AFPS. She even made enough to deliver to the guards at the gate that she saw everyday going to work. There are not enough words to express what an amazing person she was in all aspects of life. There will never be another Nancy Ann Stevens. The family would like to express an extremely heartfelt thank you to all the medical professionals that gave her the best of medical care. Dr. Harvey Hsiang and Dr. Henry Hsiang, and all the staff and nurses at Emerald Coast Cancer Center. Regency Hospice nurses, Kindred Home Health (Stacey, Nicole, and Regina). Emerald Coast Palliative Care, Dr. Erica A Saintilus, and Dr Walter Rustmann. We will never forget you guys. You are the best. You gave us the best gift, and that was caring for her, and allowing us the opportunity to have her around for a little bit longer. She truly loved you all. Nancy is survived by her sons; Scot B.
