James Carter Parson, 70, of Shalimar, Florida passed away on Friday, July 30, 2021. He was born at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, on November 18, 1950 to Col. Merlin H. Parson and Beatrice Lucille Carter Parson. He graduated from the University of Alabama with a Bachelor Arts degree in Political Science. Where he majored in International Relations and minored in History of the U.S. and Anthropology of American Indians. He worked for 37 years, Bookkeeping, Computer programming, Accounts Receivable and Accounting for several businesses. He married Donna Walters Polous, New Years Eve on the Millennium. She is his first and only wife. He was a husband, step father and Pawpaw to 7 granddaughters. Jim enjoyed playing bridge and Texas-holdem on the computer. He loved sailing down the sound, listening to Santana. James is survived by his wife Donna Parson; step sons David Lewis (Robyn) and Shane Polous; Grandaughters, Ragen, Cassie, Chesney, Paisley, Jazmyn, Zoey, and Cadence; step sister Kim Verran (Tommy); brother Tony. He is preceded in death by his father Col. Merlin Parson and step-mother Myra Parson. A Memorial will take place at a later time.
