Obituary of james barton wells

James B. Wells, 82, of Panama City Beach, FL and previously Prospect Heights, IL passed away peacefully on December 1, 2022 at HCA Florida West Hospital, Pensacola, Florida. He was born October 12, 1940 in Des Moines, Iowa to Paul and Ione (Case) Wells, raised in Minneapolis, MN and graduated from the University of Minnesota with a liberal arts degree and a member of the ROTC program. He went on to serve as a Captain in the U. S. Air Force from 1962 through 1968, with most of those years serving as a Missile Combat Crew Commander in the Atlas program. He later spent many years working with United Airlines at their headquarters in suburban Chicago, IL. He later retired to Panama City Beach where he has made his home for several years. Jim is survived by his daughter, Lisa Dawn (John) Schnecker, his grandson Kyle Schnecker, both of Lake Zurich, IL and granddaughter Sarah Schnecker, of Atlanta, GA, his sister Janet Abraham of Kingwood, TX, several nephews, a niece, cousins, and many friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Ione Wells, his brother-in-law, Lyle, as well as several dear friends. Funeral arrangements are being made with Family-Funeral & Cremation, 5627 N. Davis Highway, Pensacola, Florida 32503. Interment will be private.
