Claude Samuel Wiley, age 62, of Cantonment, Florida, lost his battle with Multiple System Atrophy and passed away peacefully on September 23, 2022, at his home. He was born to Arnette and Inez Wiley on August 14, 1960 in Pensacola, Florida. Claude was a graduate of Tate High School. He retired from International Paper where he was an active member of the USW and had devoted 38 years of his life. He contributed to the community in many ways, such as serving on the Board of Directors at Farm Hill Utilities for 17 years and coaching ball for 28 years. He is preceded in death by his parents, Arnette and Inez Wiley; siblings Steve Wiley, Sheila Wiley, and Shirley Wiley Pugh. He is survived by his wife Glenda S. Wiley, and children Shane (Corinn) Wiley, Corey Wiley, Mary Godwin, and Ryan Godwin; siblings Sherri(Jim) Hinote and Paul (Laura) Wiley; seven grandchildren; Kenzi, Rylie, Bailee, Peyton, Kyler, Kayson, Braelyn, and one great grandchild, Landyn. Claude has been called many, many things, but first and foremost he was a hard worker and a good provider for his wife and children. He was sometimes described as being stubborn and grouchy, but he had quite a sense of humor as well. He was always willing to lend a helping hand. He had a passion for motorcycles and spent most of his spare time in his shop doing mechanic work. Claude was an avid fisherman and dog hunter. He enjoyed hearing a good dog race as much as anyone. In his most recent days he enjoyed racing his motorized wheelchair. Claude/Dad/Poppy, we love you and you will be truly missed. Now, go ride free on two wheels in heaven! A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:30PM on October 16, 2022 at Family Funeral and Cremation in Pensacola, Florida. In honor of Claude please consider a donation to the Multiple System Atrophy Coalition.
