Obituary of Dolores Marie Catches

Dolores Graham Catches, age 94 has passed from this life into glory on August 12, 2022. Dolores was born April 10, 1928. She was a native of Pensacola, Florida. Her parents were Martin Luther Graham and Edna Ward Graham. She was one of eight children with only one surviving sibling Donald "Bud" Graham. She graduated from Tate High School in 1946. She met her husband, George, when she and two of her friends were driving back from the beach and they saw him and two of his friends hitch hiking. They picked them up and after a whirlwind romance, they married 6 weeks later. Dolores was a woman of strong faith and integrity. She was a loving wife for 74 years to Rev. George Catches, who passed on March 11, 2022. She served alongside him during his years of ministry. After he retired from ministry, they attended Burgess Road Baptist Church where she was very active. Family was everything to her and she loved them unconditionally. She loved to be with them and take care of them. She was "Grama" to her grandchildren and "DeeWee" to her siblings and extended family. She loved to socialize with friends and family and was happiest when they had large gatherings. She is survived by her daughter Kristi (John) Coe, son George Stephen (Terri) Catches; grandsons John Coe Ill, Derek (Sofia) Catches and Daniel Catches. Granddaughters, Jennifer (Galen) Counselman and Reanna Catches. Great grandchildren Jackson, Emma and Grayson Counselman, John Coe IV, Gabriel Nutt, Josalynn McAtee, Jadyn Catches, and many other relatives. Her memorial and celebration of life service will be held at Burgess Road Baptist Church on September 24, 2022 at 11:00. Many thanks to Covenant Care Hospice and Specialty Care Center for the loving care they gave her. She quickly became special to them, and they enjoyed being a part of her life. She was adored by her family and will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.
