Obituary of SHERMAN lewis THAMES
Sherman went peacefully to his heavenly home Friday August 12, 2022. I was blessed to be able to have him at home the entire time.
Sherman was born in Vernon Fl to Alice and Alvin Thames on November 25,1944. He was the 5th son of 7.
They moved the family to Pensacola, Fl where they attended school and remained. Sherman graduated from PHS then joined the Navy. Upon his discharge he returned to Pensacola and started a career in floor covering where he remained for 45 years.
Sherman is survived by his wife of 41 years, Debbie Thames, sons - Richie and Jason, Grandson-Christopher-great granddaughter Kinsley, Granddaughter Erin - great granddaughters Madison and Freya.
Brothers- Jerry and Carl.
I want to thank our Hospice Nurse Debra Daise and Chaplin John Copeland.
Debra was my rock through this long process, and she allowed him to express his wishes for his care and still be in comfort. There are not enough words to express my love for this wonderful woman.
Sherm, thank you for all the love, laughter, and pranks you gave us all over the years. I will forever hold you in my heart Fly highly baby and go fishing
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, August 26, 2022 at 5:00-7:00 pm at Family-Funeral & Cremation, 5627 N. Davis Highway, Pensacola, Florida 32503.
