Obituary of roger kent hinote

Roger Kent Hinote, 75, passed away Tuesday, June 28th 2022 in Pensacola Florida. Roger was born in Pensacola Florida to Arthur and Ila (Clenney) Hinote on January 21st, 1947. He was a graduate of Pensacola High School, received his undergraduate degree from University of West Florida and his Masters from Troy University. He married Susan (Semaine) Hinote on November 28th, 1969 in Gulf Breeze Florida. He worked for The Florida Department of Children and Families for 35 years until he retired on August 10th, 2006. He was dedicated to their mission of helping families. He enjoyed life to the fullest. Along with an active family life, he had many hobbies that kept him busy. His second home was at the airfield of Coastal Soaring Association in Robertsdale, Alabama. His love of flying gliders started in 1982 and lasted up to his last flight the first part of June 2022. He logged 2,135 flights during this time. He enjoyed taking people up on demo flights and also instructing future glider pilots. Roger is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Susan Hinote; Son, Brian Hinote; Daughter, Sarah Hinote; Sister, Linda Carson; Brother-in-law, David Carson; along with numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. The family will be receiving family and friends at his Celebration of Life ceremony being held at Bayview Community Center, 2001 East Lloyd St., Pensacola FL 32503 on July 16th between 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in Roger’s honor to the American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org or to Coastal Soaring Association, www.coastalsoaring.org
