Obituary of victor russell smith

Victor Russell Smith -Gulf Breeze, Florida Victor was born in St. Louis, Missouri, on March 5, 1938 to Ward Hugh Smith he died on April 9, 2022. and Laura Altemeyer Smith. After a life of accomplishments and love to others, Victor was married 56 years to Ann Jernigan Smith. He is survived by son Calvin Smith, daughter Belinda Herring (Kent), grandchildren Kaylie Herring and Chase Herring, siblings Mark Selbert, Gary Selbert and Vivian Hutchins, Victor attended the Missouri School of Mines. He earned B.S. degrees in Civil Engineering (1960) and in Business Administration (1964) from the University of Florida. Go Gators! His M.B.A. was from the University of West Florida (1991). He retired from Gulf Power Company in Management after 29 years. Victor was a commissioned officer (LTJG ) in Coast and Geodetic Survey (NOAA), serving three years on oceanographic survey ships. Victor was previously active in the Pensacola Jaycees, Bay County Chamber of Commerce, Bay County Home Builders Association, Toastmasters International, Gulf Breeze Chamber of Commerce and the Gulf Breeze Historical Society. Vic and his wife have been active members of Central Baptist Church, St. Andrews Baptist Church (Panama City), First Baptist Church of Pensacola and are active members for 32 years at Gulf Breeze Presbyterian Church. Victor and his wife have traveled extensively on many cruises and guided trips in other countries. They were in Hawaii many times as it was one of their favorite places to vacation. Memorial services will be Saturday, April 16, 1:00 p.m. Gulf Breeze Presbyterian Church, 100 Andrew Jackson Trail. Reception to follow the service in the church Fellowship Room. Memorial contributions can be made in Victor's name to the Ronald McDonald House Charities NWFL.
