Obituary of frederick Mathew friedl jr.

It is with great sorrow and much love that we mourn the death of Fredrick M. Friedl Jr. of Pensacola, Florida, whom we lost on March 8th, 2022, at the age of 70. Fredrick was called home while doing what he enjoyed most…riding his motorcycle. He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 51 years, Barbara G. Friedl (nee. Bowes), Krystina N. Friedl (daughter), Fredrick M. Friedl III (son), Melanie Furman (son’s fiancé), his five granddaughters, Skylee, Arianna, Naomi, Mika, and Keyani, his sister, Theresa A. Stochl and his devoted fur babies, Pete, and Mollie. Fredrick was welcomed to Heaven by his parents, Fredrick Matias, and Mary Louise Friedl, and his grandmother, Antonia Parker. Fredrick was born and raised in northern Ohio. After serving in the 3rd Recon Division of the United States Marine Corps during Vietnam, he returned to Ohio with his wife, Barbara, where they chose to start their family. He loved to sail on Lake Erie, storm chase with his son, and travel. Fredrick chose to relocate to Pensacola while he was still working for the U.S. Postal Service and retired here in 2009, after nearly thirty years of dedicated service. He was a life-long motorcycle enthusiast who completed several Iron Butt Challenges, a lifetime member of ABATE, and volunteered as a Patriot Guard Rider. Also known to many as WX4US (Weather Transmissions for U.S.), he was a HAM Radio Operator for over thirty years and chose his call sign as a nod to his fascination with the weather and his storm chasing days. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, March 17, 2022, at 12:00-2:00PM and service will be held at 2PM at Family-Funeral & Cremation, 5627 N. Davis Highway, Pensacola, Florida 32503 with Internment at Barrancas National Cemetery.
