James Edward Mimms, 43, of Pensacola, FL, passed away at home on February 14, 2022. He was born in Jacksonville, FL, January 14, 1979, to David T. and Linda B. Mimms. He attended Escambia High School and Pensacola Catholic High School, and was a 1997 graduate of Pensacola Catholic High School. He was a member of the Crusader's Football Team. With beginning of the 1995 Florida Gator Football season, Jimmy became a huge Gator football fan, and maintained that fervor throughout his life. Jimmy was currently employed as a Galley Cook for BRM Management Services/Gulf Coast Enterprises at the Pensacola Naval Air Station. Jimmy loved to cook and collected recipes and cookbooks geared toward Southern style cooking. Jimmy is survived by his mother, Linda B Mimms of Pensacola, his oldest brother and sister-in-law, David W. and Marion Mimms of Deltona, FL, his youngest brother, Mitchell Mimms of El Paso, TX, his niece, Michelle Mimms of Deltona, FL, his nephew Kevin Ehrensberger of Germany, and his nephew Miles Mimms also of Deltona, FL. Although Jimmy never served in the military, he was very proud of his brothers' many years of honorable service to the U.S. Army. While Jimmy was a big guy and had an imposing appearance, he was always available for a friend in need, and was a pushover for any animal needing help. A memorial service is planned for Saturday, February 26, 2022, at 10:00 AM Family-Funeral & Cremation, 5629 North Davis Hwy, Pensacola, FL 32503.
