Dorothy Elizabeth Mayhew, 76, of Danville, Virginia, passed away February 7, 2022 at her home with loved ones by her side. Born July 7, 1945 in Danville, Virginia. She was the daughter of the late Thomas Wilkerson and Laura Elizabeth Stump Wilkerson. She was married to the late Wayne Mayhew. Dorothy managed Chic Wig in Piedmont Mall before the closing and then worked at Roman Eagle before retiring. Dorothy never met a stranger she would pass someone in a store and talk to everyone as if she had known them her whole life. Anytime you went to her house she made sure you ate and took food with you. She always made sure she was involved in her three children's activities when they were younger. Taking them horseback riding and even dressing up for Halloween with them. She loved sunflowers, flea market and trips to the water and park with her good friend Mary to feed the birds. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. Dorothy was of the Christian faith. She is survived by her son Robert Eman and daughter-in-law Jennifer who took care of in Florida until her passing peacefully with them beside her. Son Ronald Eman and daughter Candice Renee of Danville, Virginia; two brothers Gary Wilkerson (Nancy) of Fayetteville, North Carolina; David Wilkerson of Fort Pierce, Florida; sister Thelma Wilmouth of Danville, Virginia. grandchildren: Ryan Eman, Laura Williams, Christopher Eman, Austen Eman, Dustin Langham and Ashley Langham. Great grandchildren: George Samuel, Delilah and Haven Langham, Eleanor and Willa Jane Levitt. Proceeded in death by two brothers, Thomas Wilkerson and Kenneth Wilkerson. A memorial and celebration of life will be held at a later date. She will be remembered for love for life and all the love she gave.
