Obituary of Mary Chapman Huebner

Mary Chapman Huebner passed away on the evening of February 5th, 2022 after a short but tough battle with brain cancer. Family members were in attendance when she passed. Mary was 70 years old. Mary was born in Chicago, IL February 12th, 1951 to George and Helen Chapman, the youngest of three daughters and one brother. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Helen. Mary is survived by her husband Charlie Huebner, sisters Kathy Hillstrom and Terri Cole and brother Jim Guthrie, sister-in-law Chris Guthrie and niece Lisa Guthrie. She is also survived by her stepdaughter Melissa Huebner Osowski, her husband Jeff Osowski, and grandchildren Emily, Alexis and Andrew Osowski. Mary graduated Austin High School in Chicago, IL and Illinois State University in Bloomington, IL. She went on to have a long and successful career in various fields including financial analysis, retail sales and management, art gallery management, banking, and finally retiring as a banking center manager. Her hobbies included skydiving, scuba diving, motorcycling, canoeing, kayaking, biking and hiking and in later years she enjoyed gardening. Her love of the outdoors led her to explore national parks and forest preserves around the country. Mary’s love of animals led her to volunteer at several local animal shelters in the different towns she lived in. While she loved all animals, she had a particular fondness for cats. Retiring in 2015 Mary started fostering kittens to save them and start them on long happy lives. She fostered approximately 100 cats and kittens in this endeavor. She also volunteered at the local Ronald McDonald House and Studer Children’s Hospital. Mary’s beautiful smile, healthy laugh and zest for life will forever be sorely missed. She was a remarkable individual who touched the lives of all she came in contact with. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2022 at 9:30 AM at Family-Funeral & Cremation, 5627 N. Davis Highway, Pensacola, Florida 32503.
