Anthony Francis Romeo, 88 of Destin, FL went to be with His Lord after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s Disease on February 2, 2022. Anthony was born in Chicago, IL on July 18, 1933, to Peter and Madeline Romeo. Anthony honorably served his country as part of the United States Airforce during the Korean War. Tony continued to serve his country in the civil service for 38 years while also serving as a volunteer firefighter for the City of Fort Walton Beach, FL. A talented artist, he was known for his numerous watercolor paintings and art projects at Eglin Airforce Base and the USAF Armament Museum in Fort Walton Beach, FL. Anthony is survived by his loving wife Pamela Romeo, his son Anthony (Shanda) Romeo, stepdaughter Patti (Carl) Brown, grandchildren; Michelle (Chris) Mejia, Peter (Jessica) Romeo, and Russell (Emily) Romeo, step grandchildren Amanda (Zach) Atwelll and Jesse (Alexa) Lancaster, and 5 great-grandchildren. Anthony is preceded in death by his first wife, Thelma Romeo, son Peter Romeo and his parents. A memorial service will be held at Barrancas National Cemetery at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, February 16, 2022. Procession will line up at 9:45 AM at Family Funeral and Cremation in Pensacola, FL for escort to Barrancas National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations are given in honor of Anthony’s memory to: USF Health Byrd Alzheimer’s Center and Research Institute or the Alaqua Animal Refuge of Freeport, FL.
