Obituary of robert earl gimlin

Robert Earl (Bob) Gimlin, 78, of Pensacola, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 14th, 2022. He was born on May 18, 1943 in Fidelity, Illinois one of eight children to William Edward and Alma Grace Gimlin. He married Patricia Henderson on November 17, 1964 in Elko, Nevada and eventually moved to Pensacola where together they raised four children. Bob served in the U.S Army and was a proud Vietnam Veteran, he worked for Westinghouse as a Nuclear Master Welder until his retirement after 25 years of service and then drove for Enterprise Car Rental for 15 years. Bob was an active and faithful member of Family Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Patricia, son, Rusty Gimlin; daughter Sheryl Ann Johnson; his parents; brothers Harold, Kenneth and Clyde Gimlin; sister, Wilma Copenbarger. Bob is survived by his daughter Cyndi (Jim) Mobley of Pace, Florida, son David (Lori) Gimlin of Foley, Alabama; nine grandchildren: Crystal Gimlin, Todd (Judith) Gimlin and Will (Catherine) Gimlin, all of Texas, Ashley Johnson of Pensacola, Kyle (Jessica) Johnson of Clarksville, Tennessee, James (Kailee) Johnson of Oak Grove, Kentucky, Kelsey (Robert) Moore of Pensacola, Chase Gimlin of Pace and Mali Gimlin of Foley; nine great-grandchildren, Zoey, Neveah, Athena, Lyla, Caitey, Will Jr, Lilly, Breydon, and Charlotte; two sisters, Louise Wilkes of Cave City, Arkansas and Julia Odum of Niles, Ohio; one brother, Steve Gimlin of Boise, Idaho; sister in law, Sue Henderson of Gulfport, Mississippi along with several nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, January 21st, 2022 at Family-Funeral and Cremation. Visitation will be at 5:30 pm to with service to follow at 6:30 pm with Pastor Brad Moffett officiating. Interment will be private at Barrancas National Cemetery. Family-Funeral & Cremation, 5627 North Davis Highway, Pensacola, Florida 32503 is in charge of arrangements. Floral Arrangements are welcome and Memorial donations in the memory of Bob and Patricia Gimlin can be made to the Family Baptist Church Building Fund.
