Obituary of Laverna clark cox

LaVerna Clark Cox 1935 - 2022 LaVerna Clark Cox was born on February 20, 1935 in Alton, Illinois to Fred and Vera Clark. She found the love of her life and married Reed Cox on December 31, 1951. She was a devoted mother, always looking for ways to make a little extra money to help support her family. Both worked for McDonald Douglas in St. Louis. LaVerna was saved in 1995 and had the privilege of leading Reed to the Lord. She began working with Child Evangelism Fellowship of Missouri where she taught kids in Good News Clubs and led many to the Lord Jesus. In 1982 they moved to Sun City, Arizona to be near their son, Clark, and grandchildren. They both loved the water, so they moved to Pace, FL in 1995 and joined Olive Baptist Church. LaVerna has always taken the Great Commission to heart and her favorite thing to do was to lead someone to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She is survived by her daughter, Valerie Cox, daughter-in-law, Cheryl Cox, and grandchildren, Dustin Jay Cox, Nichole Marie Cox Kenyon (Corey), and Adam Reed Cox, a dear brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bob and Margy Cox, and LaVerna's precious service dog, Houdini (Dini), who she took to nursing homes to cheer up the people there - and tell them about Jesus. She is preceded in death by her husband, Reed, and son, Clark. She is now celebrating with them in heaven! A Memorial Service will be held for Laverna at 11 am on January 29th at Olive Baptist Church (6, 7, 8 Building). The Joy Class will provide lunch for family and friends following the service
