Obituary of Jeffrey Kent Brock
Jeffrey Kent Brock, Born January 18th, 1953 in Chicago, Illinois, departed this realm on January 6th, 2022. Jeff thoroughly treasured the experience of life and will be remembered affectionately for being the rock of the family-the best father and friend, automotive aficionado, competitive sailor, regionally renowned musician and avid follower of politics. Following a successful career as a master tool and die maker, Jeff enjoyed his retirement years and spent several months per year with his youngest son, Charles, and daughter-in-law Kristy-no matter where they were stationed with the USCG, enjoying each experience with them and making plans for the next and snow birding during winters.
He will be remembered for his loving, effervescent, rocking and also gentle personality--and for always being there with a quick smile, good advice and a quick wit.
He is survived by son Charles Brock (Kristy Brock) of Pensacola, Florida, brother Rob Brock (Cyndee Brock) of Evansville, Indiana, sister Trish Brock of Nebraska, son Jon Brock of Warsaw, Indiana, and many cousins, friends and loved ones.
Jeff was a “Myositis Warrior”, having been diagnosed with Inclusion Body Myositis (IBM) in 2018 and refusing to allow it to affect his positive nature. For this reason, the family requests that in leu of flowers, for donations to be made to the Peter Frampton Myositis research fund. As IBM is so rare, Jeff often shared with others that Peter Frampton was a fellow musician and also a fellow “IBM-er”, making this cause extra near to our hearts.
The family will be hosting a celebration of life on January 14th, 2022 at the Oakwood Inn in Syracuse, Indiana from 3pm-7pm.
