Obituary of robert william woodard, SR.

Robert William Woodard, Sr., age 84, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2022. He was born November 25, 1937, in Troy, Ohio. He is survived by his spouse of 64 years, Peggy A. Woodard (Martindale). He was preceded in death by his brother Earyle D. Woodard. He is survived by his sister Phyllis E. Barr (Jim), and his three children Robert W. Woodard, Jr, Mary), Donna L. Gill (Robert), and Debra A. Goodwin (Simon), as well as eight grand-children and sixteen great grand-children. Bob was an Army Veteran. He enjoyed being a Boy Scout Leader, coaching and umpiring Little League baseball. He was President of the Greenwood Indiana Jaycees. After Bob retired, he mentored youth and received a mentor of the year award from Ensley Elementary School and the district. Bob received an Outstanding Senior Citizen award from President George W. Bush. Bob had a knack for making people laugh and his sense of humor and quick-witted nature were undeniable. He had a passion for history, golf, helping others and serving St Luke UMC as a Certified Lay Minister. Celebration of Life Service will be Saturday, January 22, 2022, at 11 AM, at St Luke UMC. visitation will start at 10:30 AM. The church is located at 1394 E. 9 Mile Road, Pensacola, FL 32514.
