Obituary of Carolyn "Ann" Brooks Brown

Carolyn “Ann” Brooks Brown, 73 of Gulf Breeze, Florida, passed away at her home on the morning of Monday, October 25, 2021, surrounded by her family. Ann was born in Atmore, Alabama on July 12, 1948, to the late Sidney Warren and Bama Parker Brooks. Ann later married the love of her life, Joe Ronnie Brown, Sr, on March 2, 1968. During their time together, Ann and Joe had two sons, Joe Ronnie Brown, Jr., and Mark Randall Brown. Ann and Joe remained married for 53 years until the Lord called her home. Ann was a strong and devoted Christian, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Ann’s priorities in life were her family, friends, and the Lord. Ann never missed any sporting or school events for her children, and she was always there to care for Joe. Ann also loved spending time with “the girls” any chance that she could. Ann was strong in her faith and her walk with the Lord. Ann regularly attended services at St Paul United Methodist Church in Gulf Breeze where she was a beloved member of the women’s bible study group. Ann was also loved and well respected by her co-workers at Gulf Breeze Elementary School where she worked for 30 years. Ann was a role model and mentor to the many children who attended the elementary school. On a routine basis Ann was approached by former students who just wanted to say hello and give her a hug. Ann will certainly be missed by all. Ann is preceded in death by two brothers James H. “Bully” Brooks and Franklin D. Brooks and two sisters Rosa Belle Whitehead and Allie Maxine McDonald Godwin. Ann is survived by her husband, Joe Ronnie Brown, Sr, her two sons Joe Ronnie Brown, Jr, and Mark Randall Brown (Lianne), her grandson Jacob Connor Brown and her brother Sidney Warren Brooks, Jr (Jerry). A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10am on November 20, 2021, at the St Paul United Methodist Church located at 4901 Gulf Breeze Pkwy in Gulf Breeze.
