Obituary of nancy katherine edlund
Nancy was born in Detroit, Michigan to Oscar Theodore Edlund and Doris Laur Edlund. She was the beloved daughter to her parents, and the adored little sister to her big brother Edward. She was truly a free spirit, always following a passion.
One of her passions led her to spending many happy years in Pensacola, living in a home which she designed on Escambia Bay. She loved sailing on the bay and treating her family to fresh oysters when they visited. Her next adventure was living in a cabin in Tennessee in which she embraced life in the country. She especially enjoyed kayaking on the river next to her home. Another passion brought her to Alaska, one of her lifelong goals. She packed her car with all of her possessions and drove up the AlCan highway, outrunning the snow by only a few days. She lived in Alaska for many years. Some of her favorite days were canoeing on the many lakes nearby. Her last big adventure was purchasing an RV and traveling throughout the lower 48 states for a few years. She followed the weather, wintering in the south and summering in the north, always finding a peaceful spot on a lake.
While living her adventurous life, she also obtained two Masters Degrees (just for fun).
A primary focus in Nancy’s life was her animals, with whom we’re sure she is cuddled up with at this time. These beloved pets include CoCo the cat, and her dogs Tonka, Ben and Mouse. Her Great Dane, Inga, remains living a great life in Alaska and will join her at a later date.
Nancy lived life on her own terms. She is truly missed by her family.
