Obituary of edwin wayne owen

Edwin (Eddie) W. Owen, age 62, died peacefully on September 15, 2021, in Pensacola, Florida. Eddie Owen was born August 23, 1959 in Morganfield, Kentucky to Joseph and Irene Owen and was the youngest of five children. He grew up with a love of sports and working on anything with an engine. After graduating from Union County High School, he worked at French and Lyon’s for 21 years and during this time he married Cheryl Owen. They were married in 1983 and had two sons, Ryan and Aaron. In 1997, they moved to Georgetown, Kentucky where Eddie worked at Toyota Motor Manufacturing until 2009, when he retired due to an autoimmune disease. He moved to Florida in 2019 and remained there until his death. He enjoyed playing golf, riding motorcycles, and working on cars; which he passed on to his sons. He loved talking to people and always looked forward to vacations on the beach. Watching football on the weekends was a priority as he cheered on his 49ers. He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law: Ryan and Catherine Owen; Aaron and Amanda Owen; grandchildren: Elynn and Elias; sisters and brothers-in-law: Karen and Fred Shirley, Kathy and Mike White, and Debbie and Lyle Pruisman. Preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Irene and brother Billy. At his request, no service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Eddie can be made to the Lupus Foundation of America.
