Obituary of Clive William Dutson
On Friday, August 27, 2021, Clive W. Dutson, devoted husband and father, passed on to Heaven as a result of a tragic motorcycle accident. He was only 33 years young.
Clive’s authentic personality drew everyone in and touched so many lives. His witty and sarcastic humor brought life to any room. If he cracked a joke, it was likely that the entire room would be rolling with laughter. Clive spread joy wherever he went. He was a compassionate and understanding friend to many and loved and accepted everyone. Clive loved his family, friends, and most importantly, God.
Clive’s entire life revolved around his family. Fourteen short years ago, Clive walked into a movie theater in Montana and changed history forever. That’s where he met the love of his life, his soulmate, his wife-Alana, and they immediately became inseparable. Clive and Alana were made for each other and even have the same birthdate (born one year apart). Clive carried around the first note Alana ever gave to him until the day he died. Clive and Alana were blessed with their beautiful daughter, Hannah, in 2012. Hannah was always the apple of Clive’s eye. Clive proudly told everyone about Hannah and all her accomplishments. Even though Hannah got only 8 short years with her Daddy, he taught her so very much about life, love, and God. Clive worked tirelessly to provide for his family, and he always made sure they knew how much he loved them.
Clive’s unconditional love did not stop with family. If you were blessed to be a friend of Clive’s, you know that you weren’t just a friend but that he took you in like family.
Clive loved working with his hands. On top of being an Assistant Manager at Ollie’s Bargain Outlet, Clive ran his small handyman business, Dutson Property Management, LLC. Clive was always there for his client’s rain or shine, day or night. Clive also enjoyed working on cars, motorcycles, and anything that could be taken apart or put back together. Clive’s other hobbies included golf, swimming, and watching movies and TV. Clive loved taking Hannah to glow-golf and proudly carried around the ticket stub from their first outing.
More than anything else, Clive loved the Lord and was always willing to sit with you and answer any question you’ve ever had about God. Clive was raised in the FLDS Mormon faith, but at 18 he left the religion. At 19, Clive met Alana, was baptized and confirmed into the Christian Faith, and strived to keep God in his marriage and life. Clive and Alana never argued about God. They stood firm in their faith and his family is comforted to know that Clive is now reaping the rewards of Heaven while waiting for the rest of his family to join him.
Clive leaves behind his wife Alana and daughter Hannah; parents Hyrum and Kristal Dutson; Mother-in-law Rebecca (Linzie); and Father-in-law Greg. Clive also leaves behind many brothers, brothers-in-law, sisters, sisters-in-law, and numerous extended family, as well as an entire world of friends that he considered family.
Clive will be greatly missed by us all. His quick wit, sharp sense of humor, and unconditional love were one of a kind.
