Obituary of kirk allen andresen

Kirk Allen Andresen was called home May 15, 2021, exactly 83 years after he was born. He is preceded in death by his parents, Arne Andresen and Silva Magnuson of Billings, Montana, and younger sister Lana. Kirk was a generous and loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of sixty-one years, Jackie Andresen; his only child, Kimberly Thompson Strickler, and her husband David W. Strickler Jr.; granddaughter, Crissy Medley; grandson, Ryan Thompson; great-grandson, Ben Medley; youngest sister, Roxy Andresen; his beloved Yorkshire Terrier, Skoshie; and a host of extended family and close friends. Kirk proudly served twenty years in the United States Navy. He was a transporter of highly classified materials, a crypto analyst, and finally retiring as an instructor at NTTC Corry Station in Pensacola, FL. Family and friends will miss hearing about his humorous, and often harrowing, experiences while stationed in exotic locales such as Japan and Turkey. Kirk was also a major car enthusiast. This passion eventually led him to work as General Sales Manager at Astro Lincoln Mercury for thirty years. He truly cherished those times, as well as the lifelong friendships he made. He was an avid collector of action-packed movies, Japanese and Chinese art. His green thumb was the envy of the neighborhood as he took great pride in maintaining a beautifully landscaped yard. His ideal weekend was grilling out steaks for the family and watching the latest flicks from his extensive collection. Kirk was a next-level prankster whose sharp wit and artistic prowess was rarely, if ever, topped. He also enjoyed the playful banter of a good debate. During his earlier years, Kirk created elaborate displays for military events, designed logos and shirts for his bowling team, and had articles published in various local newspapers. He was a man of many talents and accomplishments, but he will be most remembered for his love, generosity, and dedication to family. There will be a private “Celebration of Life” for the immediate family. In lieu of flowers, family and friends may express their condolences via cards or letters. These cards and letters will be collected and placed in an antique Chinese trunk, something he would have appreciated. Those who wish may also donate to the American Cancer Society(https://www.cancer.org/involved/donate) Family-Funeral & Cremation, 5627 North Davis Hwy, Pensacola, FL will be handling the arrangements.
