Bonita Joy Karmie, 67, of Navarre, Florida passed away on Friday, April 9, 2021. Bonita (Bonnie) Joy Karmie, 67, passed away peacefully in her sleep after a protracted illness on April 9, 2021, Gulf Breeze, FL. Bonnie was born on November 14, 1953 in Chicago, IL, to Alvin and Geraldine Karmie. She was Baptized on September 13, 1964, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Oaklawn, IL. Bonnie graduated with honors from Oak Lawn Community High School in 1971, and graduated Cum Laude from Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa, with a BAED majoring in History. She was a member of Kappa Delta Pi. Bonnie received her Master in Ed with an emphasis in Private School Administration from California Lutheran College in Thousand Oaks, CA, in 1984. Bonnie’s church family are incredibly impressed with the accolades that she received during her professional life and how she touched so many young lives during her teaching career. Bonnie enjoyed learning and taking classes to increase her knowledge of her favorite subjects: History, Social Studies, French and Science. She travelled extensively to many Asian countries, Africa, and France, etc. Her parents preceded her in death, as well, as her sister Darlene Carol Karmie. Bonnie is survived by a sister, nieces, nephews and a host of her church friends.
