Obituary of shirley mae boyd
Shirley Mae Boyd, 58, of Pensacola, Florida passed away on Wednesday, April 7, 2021.
Shirley loved her family, friends, and cats. She was always helping others in need. Shirley loved going to garage sales and estate sales with her mom and daughter. Shirley was independent, strong, and fought until the very end. She battled lung cancer (and other new cancers that grew) that was metastatic on and off for six years. She went through a lot of radiation and chemo treatments. Her oncologist gave her the nickname "Bulldozer" because she would not let the cancer win and she kept living. She was his longest patient with lung cancer. You could tell that he really cared about his patients. Shirley will be missed by all that loved her smile, her crazy, funny sense of humor and her straight-forwardness.
Shirley is preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Ethel (Meers) Boyd and her sister, Jackie Boyd.
Shirley is survived by her son, Richard W. Boyd Chupp of Pensacola, FL, and her daughter, Sarah (Michael) Hughes of Pensacola, Florida; her brother, Bill (Kathy) Meers of North Canton, Ohio; her sisters, Connie (John) Snyder of North Canton, Ohio, Vickie Preston of Pensacola, Florida, and Barbara Domer of Mineral City, Ohio. She is also survived by six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews and their families.
Cremation will take place and there will be no services.
