Obituary of raymond glenn carter
Raymond "Glenn" Carter was born on February 19, 1946 and went home to be with the Lord on February 4, 2021.
While born in Florida, he grew up in Alabama before serving in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was discharged in Lawton, Oklahoma where he attended junior college. Shortly after, he went to New York City where he opened Cherokee Furniture at 5605 Broadway. He eventually moved to Pensacola, Florida where he met his future wife, Sheila, and went on to have two children.
Throughout the years, he owned several businesses spanning from a fish and farmers market, a general contracting business, and eventually Santa Rosa Sporting Clays, his most successful venture and local favorite gun range.
His hobbies included music, fishing, hunting, and firearms. He was superb in math and could build anything, including the family home.
He is preceded in death by parents, Albert and Lois; siblings, Melvin (Gail) and Sandra (Genry).
He is survived by his children, Melissa (Chris) and Daniel (Leah); grandson, Cole; former spouse, Sheila; siblings, Henry (Donna Jean), Betty (Bob), Esther, Jerry (Karen) and David (Heather) and many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at 10:00 am at Family Funeral and Cremation, 5627 N. Davis Hwy., Pensacola, Florida 32503.
