Obituary of barbara ann Resler weeks

Barbara Anne Weeks, 91, of Pensacola, Florida passed away on Friday, January 1, 2021. Barbara (Bobbie) was born in Huntington, Long Island, New York on November 14, 1929. She was the daughter of Anne Phillips Resler and Walter Henry Resler. She was an only child and always felt that she was very spoiled. Being raised during the Great Depression made her family question how spoiled she really was but this combined with her loving upbringing undoubtedly influenced her whole life. She studied architecture at Syracuse University where she met Roger Goodell Weeks who she married August 21, 1950. In 1952 her young family moved to Pensacola where they started an architecture business and raised three sons: James, Tyler and Peter. These men and their families were the joy of her life. She is survived by her three sons, four grandchildren, Chris (Lindsay), Amanda Jones (Brian), Autumn (Tim Fluharty), and Patrick (Christy); ten great-grandchildren, Sterling, Peyton, Benjamin, Kellan, Asher, Bella, Elam, Christian, Gabriel and Wyatt. Art was always a huge part of Bobbie's life, as a child growing up, as a student in Architectural School to the Art Students League in NYC to a Master's Degree at UWF, teaching at the Pensacola Academy of Arts and Sciences, PJC and UWF, to painting watercolors on the hood of her 1950's Ford, to trip-ticks in AAA offices around Florida and the Air Force Armament Museum, to caricatures of hundreds of sailors and Marines at the USO, to her daily "whimsies "; art was always what inspired and motivated her life. Peter’s wife Kathleen was especially helpful to her. In her later years the encouragement of her care-givers Harriet, Shirlie, Deborah, Tayla and Pat, former pupils from the Pensacola Academy of Arts and Sciences, her family and friends helped her and brightened her days. Her motto was always “Don’t worry, have fun”. Bobbie was extremely grateful to the doctors and nurses at Baptist Hospital and West Florida Covenant Hospice. In lieu of flowers Bobbie requested that donations be made to the First Church of Christ Scientist in Pensacola located at 5994 W. Nine Mile Rd, Pensacola FL 32526.
