Obituary of martha jean renfroe mcdonald

Martha Jean Renfroe McDonald, better known as Marty, 86, of Pensacola, Florida peacefully passed from this earthly world on December 9, 2020 to be with her heavenly family. Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal. She was born in Atlanta, Georgia on March 27, 1934 to parents, Jack Renfroe and Irene Parrish. At age 18, she married Billy Coursey and left Atlanta. In the years to come, she had many children, Steven, Michael, Richard, Francis, Jack, Virginia and Sandra. Many years later in life, she married Don McDonald and had one last child, James McDonald. She resided in Pensacola the rest of her life. She worked for Bellsouth early in life, then worked as a manager of a gas station at the corner of Chemstrand Road and Nine Mile Road for over 30 years until retirement. She had so many relationships with the community that developed from her career there. She is preceded in death by Steven Coursey and Sandra Coursey. Martha is survived by Michael Coursey, Richard Coursey, Francis Coursey, Jack Coursey, Virginia Jenkins and James McDonald. She was blessed with a large family with several grandchildren and many great-grandchildren that followed. Marty loved Christmas the most, since everyone was able to reunite for over thirty-five years with her annual party. No memorial events are currently scheduled at this time. The family is planning a Celebration of Life for her one year anniversary. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Martha’s memory to the Ensley First Baptist Church (A Future and a Hope Women’s Recovery Program or the Women and Children’s Cold Weather Shelter), 50 W. Johnson Avenue, Pensacola, Florida 32534 (www.ensleyfbc.org/missions).
