Obituary of ann victoria balog

Ann Victoria Balog, 70, wife of Ret Chief Petty Officer Michael Balog, passed away Sunday, December 6, 2020 at West Florida Hospital. Born June 30, 1950, in Kendallville, Indiana and was the daughter of William W. Turner III and Jeanne O. Turner. While in high school and college, she enjoyed the activities of drama class and swimming. She was on the first women's swim team at Indiana University, where she attended for International Studies. Prior to celebrating their 50th anniversary in 2020, Vicki and Mike were married in 1970 and began the life of a military family. Through their many military duty stations, Vicki developed a love of horses and never lost sight of her love swimming. When stationed in Pensacola in 1981, Mike and Vicki, along with a couple other "swim parents", started a swim team at Myrtle Grove YMCA. Vicki was very happy her three children carried the same passion for aquatics. She was proud to have coached the swim team for 39 years. Vicki was an aquatic enthusiast to her core. She did everything she could to ensure anyone who wanted to swim or be safe around the water always had an opportunity. As she once wrote, "I am one of the lucky people who gets to do what I love". She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her. Vicki is survived by her husband, Michael Balog of Florida; her son, Michael SG Balog and his wife, Lori Balog of Michigan; her daughter, Tanna Wolfe and her husband, Chuck Wolfe of New Jersey; her daughter, Trey Taunton and her husband, Sammie Taunton of Florida; her grandchildren, Savannah Wolfe-Jaroz, Ethan Wolfe, Tanner Balog, and Tori Balog. She is also survived by her brother, William W Turner IV and his family of North Carolina; and her sister, Suzanne Pomerantzeff and her family of Florida. A memorial service will be held for immediate family members. Friends, family and all who had the honor to know Vicki are invited to a Celebration of Life to be held at a later time. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to, West Florida Hospital, who always took great care of her over the years.
