Obituary of jael collins blazquez

Jael Collins Blazquez passed away on September 18, 2020, moments before the Jewish New Year began. She was surrounded by her daughters. In her 83 years, she was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, artist, tango dancer, poet and animal lover. She was born in Israel in 1937 to David Marcadis and Ginette Perahia. When she was 13, she and her mother moved to Buenos Aires. They relocated to Los Angeles a few years later where she became a student nurse. Jael got distracted by a handsome Polish man who was in the hospital for back surgery. She gave up nursing, got married and started a family. When her three daughters were very young, Jael and her husband, Edward Collins, moved to Hawaii. They arrived in 1961 shortly after Hawaii became the 50th state. They settled in Honolulu and created a wonderful life for their family. Jael never sat still and her children remember her as someone who always had an art project going. She was the belle of the ball who would spend the whole day getting ready. They loved to travel and cruise…she was always the most stunning person at the party. Four years after Ed had passed; Jael married Jose Blazquez in 1999 and began a whirlwind romance that took them from Hawaii to Mexico and Argentina. A beautiful artist meeting her tall, dark and handsome Spanish knight in shining armor, Jael would quickly become his loving and adored wife and tango queen, and together they would venture all around the world blessing those who had the privilege of witnessing and feeling their contagious and vivacious charisma and magical charm. They would spend months in Huatulco, Mexico and Buenos Aires enjoying the Milonga and South of the Border vibe. Six years ago, they opted for a quieter life in Pensacola and she settled in Perdido Key, where she was inspired by the sea and sand to create artwork now seen in a few local stores. Her husband, Jose Blazquez, passed away in December 2019 and she spent her last month’s enjoying the Gulf and adventures with her daughter and grandson. She is survived by her four daughters, Vicky Collins Ewalt, Gabrielle Collins, Laura Collins and Monica Blazquez Chamaa. She is also survived by three grandsons, Brandon Collins, Kyle Ewalt and Blair Ewalt. She was an ardent Trump supporter and in lieu of charitable contributions or flowers, she requests everyone get out and vote in the upcoming 2020 election.
