Obituary of ronald lane gillis

Ronald Lane Gillis, 73, of Milton, Florida passed away on Thursday, September 10, 2020. Ronald Lane Gillis, of Milton, FL, passed into glory, to be with Jesus September 10, 2020, at 73 years of age. "Absent from the body, present with the Lord." II Corinthians 5:8. Born in DeFuniak Springs, FL, August 25, 1947, Ronald grew up in rural countryside, served honorably in the USAF as an aircraft machinist, and in Civil Service as the same. After marrying Dorothy Gail Stoltzfus, he was found to have a brain tumor. After surgery, he retired to recover at home. Through the years, as he strengthened, he took up woodworking, making beautiful furniture and crafts from home. He built sturdy barns and homes, as well, for his family. He was able to spend heartfelt quality time with his wife and three daughters, Sadie, Winifred and Roanna, and later with grandchildren, Michaela, Sonora, Thaddaeus, Clarabelle, Josiah, Gretta and Sage; as well as Sons-in-law Tim Cogar and Steve Thompson. Almost everyone who met Ronald felt instantly that he was his or her friend. God gave him that special gift of loving hospitality, as well as creativity and a great sense of humor. In morning devotions, he prayed for many people. He could fix anything and figure out how almost everything worked. We who knew Ronald were blessed indeed! And we eagerly anticipate seeing him again when it is our time to step over the threshold, into the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ and all the dear ones gone before
