Obituary of Shirley Christine holley Smith

Shirley Christine Holley Smith, age 86, of Pensacola, FL went to her Heavenly home to be with Jesus on Monday, July 13, 2020. She had been a resident of Pensacola, FL for approximately 67 years. Ms. Smith was born September 22, 1933 to the late Charlie Barkwood Holley and Winnie Sylvesta Braswell in Blountstown, FL. Ms. Smith is preceded in death by her father and mother; sisters, Wilma Bailey (John) and Vergie Elizabeth Peavy (Carlos) of Blountstown, FL and her brother, Buford Eli Holley of Blountstown, FL. She is survived by her daughter, Phebe Smith Scully of Pensacola, FL; son, Charlie Edwin Smith (Joy) of Pace, FL; daughter, Brenda Sue Hughes (Mike) of Springville, AL; eight grandchildren, Patrick Ryan Scully (Monica) of Molino, FL, Micah Shane Scully (Melissa) of Sahuarita, AZ, Jarrett Steven Scully (Cali) of Cantonment, FL, Briana Joy Fails (Ben) of Pearl, MS, Brandon Caleb Smith (Jackie) of Milton, FL, Joshua Edwin Smith of Pensacola, FL, Joshua Michael Hughes (Kathleen) of Birmingham, AL, and Micah Chase Hughes (Lillian) of Birmingham, AL; six great-grandchildren, Tucker Cade Scully, Harper Ryan Scully, Brooklyn Reid Scully, Peyton Grace Smith, Paisley Faith Smith, and Vivian Eloise Hughes; numerous nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews. Her devotion to her family was without measure, and although they loved her dearly and will miss her tremendously, her suffering is over and her wonderful new life in Heaven has begun. The family wishes to thank the dedicated and loving staff at Baptist Hospital and Specialty Care and Rehabilitation of Pensacola, FL for providing our Mom with the best of care and compassion during her final days here with us. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2020 with visitation from 12:00 - 1:00 pm, service at 1:00 pm, officiated by Pastor James Carter of Milestone Baptist Church, at Family-Funeral & Cremation, 5627 North Davis Highway, Pensacola, Florida 32503 with graveside service at Pensacola Memorial Gardens immediately following the service. If preferred, in lieu of flowers, Moms memory would be honored by making donations to The Rheumatoid Arthritis Foundation (arthritis.org).
