Benjamine Dyches Slater, Jr., 57, of Pensacola, Florida passed away on Friday, May 8, 2020. Benjamine was born on August 13, 1962 in St. Petersburg, Florida to parents, Benjamine Dyches Slater, Sr. and Catherine Johnson. He graduated from Gulf Breeze High School and achieved an Associate’s Degree at the Art Institute of Atlanta, Georgia. He was the proud owner and operator of The Sand Bar on Pensacola Beach, Florida from 1994-2003. He was preceded in death by his parents and his uncle, William Slater. Benjamine is survived by his daughter, Samantha Slater-Eddins; son, Kyle Slater; ex-wife, Edie Slater; grandson, William Eddins; granddaughters, Isabella and Lilly Holtman; step-mother, Debbie Slater; step-sister, Tammy Henderson; mother-in-law, Peggy Walker; brother-in-law, Keith Robinson; father-in-law, Steven Walker and step-mother-in-law, Deadrea Walker and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Benjamine was a very proud father, grandfather and business owner. He loved being surrounded by his family and so many people he considered friends.
