Obituary of Richard james southern

Richard James Southern, 55, of Cantonment, Florida passed away on Monday, February 17, 2020. James was born on March 16, 1964 in Pensacola, Florida to parents, Richard Southern and Paula Eileen Licklider and attended Pine Forest High School. He was the Owner and Operator of Southern Pride Home, Inc. for approximately ten years; working side by side with his loving wife, Daphne. He is predeceased by his maternal and paternal grandparents. He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Daphne Renee Meyer Southern; his parents, Richard and Paula; brother, Charles; sister, Tonya; daughters, Kendra and Cecilia; son, Brian Keith; 15 grandchildren and one great-grandbaby on the way. James enjoyed listening to all types of music, spending time with his family, loved his dogs, working in the yard and loved being outdoors. He loved eating deer meat and fish from time spent in his teenage years with his grandparents, who taught him to live off the land. He was a devoted father, husband, brother, son and grandfather and loved his family with all his heart. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, February 28, 2020 at 1:00pm at the Landmark Missionary Baptist Church, 7622 Lillian Highway, Pensacola, Florida 32506. A reception will be held in the dining hall immediately following the service.
