Obituary of roland cecil williams
Roland (Rod) C. Williams long time resident of Fort Walton Beach, FL passed away at the age of 91 on Valentine's Day to join the love of his life, Norma Jean Williams.
Roland served in both The United States Navy (WW II) and The United States Air Force stationed at both Eglin and Hurlburt Field. Upon retiring he went to work at Russell Bailey Motors as well as Burris Motors making long time returning customers and friends. He was fondly known as Mr. Clean. Roland enjoyed riding his Gold Wing Motorcycle at the age of 80 to Birmingham and in the local poker runs. He was also a Shriner and a Mason.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Ann Williams; brother, Robert Williams; and wife of 65 years, Norma Jean Williams. Roland was entirely devoted to her, many defining their union to the movie, The Notebook.
Roland is survived by his sons, Terry “Chip” (Cathie) Williams and Todd (Anita) Williams; daughter, Tracy (Alex) Maselowitch; grandchildren, Jaime (Chad) Williams, Jon (Amanda) Williams, Alexis Maselowitch, Taylor Maselowitch, B.A. (Laura) Bates, C.J. Bates, Jesse Bates; great grandchildren, Ally and Ben Williams, Conner Bates and Katy Belle Bates; favorite nieces, Brenda (Greg) Love, Robin (Rod) McSweeney and nephew, Danny Williams. He was a loving Father and Papaw.
Burial services will be held at Barrancas National Cemetery with full military honors on Friday, February 21, 2020 at 10:30 am. The procession will meet at 10:00 am at Olive-Baptist Church Warrington Campus, 103 West Winthrop Avenue, Pensacola, Florida 32507.
