Obituary of joanne marie breedon
The Breedon family is mourning the sudden loss of our dear sister, Joanne Marie Breedon, who entered into the presence of the Lord on November 17, 2019.
Joanne was born in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania on September 8, 1955. As the daughter of a United States Air Force fighter pilot, she traveled the world before living in Ft. Walton Beach, New Orleans, Mobile, and Houston.
Joanne studied at the University of South Alabama, where she maintained a 4.0 GPA while earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. As a registered nurse specializing in pediatrics, she served in the neonatal intensive care unit at Hermann Hospital in Houston, where she helped to save the lives of at-risk newborns. Joanne returned to Ft. Walton Beach to care for her mother who was suffering with ALS, and then remained in Ft. Walton Beach to continue her nursing career until her recent retirement.
Joanne is a beloved sister, aunt, and friend whose life touched countless others. She was strong, intelligent, and caring, and was known for her wonderful sense of humor. She is survived by her two brothers, Joe Breedon, Jr. and Robert Breedon; two sisters, Kathy Breedon Robinson and Tyree Breedon Cunningham and her four nephews and seven nieces.
Joanne has been reunited in the presence of the Lord with her parents, Joe and Joan Breedon, and her youngest nephew, Benjamin Cunningham. We can no longer hold Joanne’s hand as we did during her last days with us, but we will forever hold her in our hearts, and we know that we will be with Joanne again in Heaven.
A private memorial gathering will be held at a later date.
