Marconi Caseria Lopez, Captain, United States Army (ret), 80, of Milton, Florida was called home on July 26, 2019. He was born in Binalonan, Pangasinan, Philippines on August 4, 1938 to Alejandro and Modesta Lopez. He married his loving wife, Olivia Relova Lopez of 49 years in 1969. He served for 20 years in the U.S. Army Special Forces/Green Berets. Along with the accomplishment of being battlefield commissioned in Vietnam, Marconi was also awarded numerous decorations including a Silver Star with Valor, 3 Bronze Stars with Valor, 2 Army commendation medals and a Purple Heart. Marconi enjoyed fishing, eating, traveling, family get-togethers and watching sports. He is preceded in death by his brothers, Jimsey Lopez of San Jose, CA and Abelardo Lopez of Kauai, Hawaii. Marconi is survived by his devoted wife, Olivia Relova Lopez of Milton, FL and daughters, Marcia Colburn of Milton, FL, Patty Mahayag of Kennesaw, GA and Aimee McCartney of Tallahassee, FL; plus six grandchildren, Jocelyn Mahayag, Jossette Mahayag, Jacob Colburn, Jaylen Mahayag, Jonah McCartney and Zach Colburn and sons-in-law, Charlie Colburn, Rob Mahayag, Jeremy McCartney and his sister, Mary Guerrero of Gilroy, CA and Andy Lopez of Binangonan, Philippines. Marconi will be cremated and a Committal Service will be held Thursday, August 8, 2019 at 1:30pm at Barrancas National Cemetery with the procession leaving at 1:00pm from Olive Baptist Church-Warrington Campus, 103 West Winthrop Avenue, Pensacola, FL 32507.
