Obituary of Elizabeth ann wilson

Elizabeth "Libby" Ann Wilson, 71, passed away in her home on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 in Pensacola, Florida due to complications following a stroke and pneumonia. Libby was born on January 8, 1948 in Pensacola, Florida to E. W. Wilson and Margaret A. Ansley. She graduated in 1966 from Tate High School in Gonzalez, Florida and went on to attend and graduate from Florida State University with a degree in Art Education in 1970. After college, Libby’s first job was teaching art in Miami. Later, she moved to Washington D.C. and was active in the Women’s Rights movement. While in DC, she worked with lobbyist. Libby’s dream was to study acting in England, so she set off for London. She lived in London for several years pursuing acting and also worked for a publishing company. Libby returned to Pensacola in 1979. She continued working in publishing and owned the Copy Shop in downtown Pensacola. Libby was vivacious and articulate. She had a flair for storytelling and engaging conversation. She had a passion for the arts – specifically writing and painting. In recent years, Libby volunteered with NAMI. She is preceded in death by her husband, Randall Olsen; her parents and her brother, Billy Wilson. Libby is survived by her son, Matt Mumby of Pensacola, FL.; her sisters, Sula Harrison of Jacksonville, NC., Mary Eela Wilson of Kansas City, MO., and five nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2019 at the First Baptist Church of Pensacola, Pleitz Chapel, 500 North Palafox Street, Pensacola, Florida 32501. Visitation will be held from 4:00-5:00pm with service at 5:00pm. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Libby’s life.
