Obituary of Bonnie M. Townsend

BONNIE M. TOWNSEND 1943 - 2019 Bonnie Townsend passed away on April 15, 2019 in Pensacola, Florida. Bonnie was born and raised in Newton County, Mississippi. She married Jerrel in February 1966 and moved to Pensacola. She was a lifelong Christian at the Church of Christ. Bonnie was a loving wife, mother and grandmother that will be greatly missed. Bonnie was born February 27, 1943 to William Leon Freeman and Kathryn (Gressett) Freeman in Mississippi. Leon was a box factory supervisor and Church of Christ preacher. Bonnie graduated from Collinsville High School, Class of 1961, and, after graduation, worked at the Key Loan Company in Meridian, Mississippi. When she married Jerrel, they moved to Pensacola, Florida and was a Florida resident for 53 years. Bonnie and Jerrel have two children Jeremy and Joy. She was a loving, caring mother that loved them greatly. She was blessed with three granddaughters and a grandson that she loved dearly. She spent a lot of time with them telling stories and enjoying life. Bonnie is preceded in death by her parents, Leon and Kathryn; sisters, Barbara Hopper and Betty Barrett. She is survived by her husband, Jerrel; son, Jeremy (Denise); daughter, Joy (Bob); brother, Bill Freeman; sister, Brenda; grandchildren, Maelynn, Lydia, Hannah and Caleb. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2019 with visitation from 1:00 - 2:00 pm and service at 2:00 pm at Family-Funeral & Cremation, 7253 Plantation Road, Pensacola, Florida 32504. Joe Matzer, minister of Northside Church of Christ, will conduct the memorial service. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that you make a donation in Bonnie's name to the charity of your choice.
