Obituary of Karen Lee Ely

Karen Lee Ely, 51, of Mary Esther, Florida was called Home on Monday, February 25, 2019. She was born in Plantation, Florida on February 6, 1968 to Leonard and Betty Baker. She worked many years as an Ophthalmic Technician, where she loved her patients and fellow co-workers. She also loved the Georgia Bulldogs! Karen was beautiful both inside and out. With a contagious laugh and an open mind, she was someone that everyone wanted to know. Even while facing unbeatable odds, she kept a positive attitude and a smile on her face. She was unbelievably selfless. Karen lived her life with grace and strength, until the day she was welcomed in Heaven. Karen is survived by her two children- Racquel Mack (Ashton), and Christopher Ely, as well as her four granddaughters- Rylee, Hadlee, Cheyenne, and Lylah. She is also survived by her sister Denise Johnson (Kevin), as well as nieces Brenna and Sarah, and many more loving family members and friends who will miss her dearly. She is preceded in death by her parents, Lenny and Betty. Karen was an amazing mother, sister, and friend, but her greatest and most adored role was Gigi. It is our sincerest hope that she will continue to guide our daughters throughout their lives, watching over them during life’s biggest moments. We will miss her immensely.
