Obituary of Thomas Wayne Snyder
Thomas Wayne Snyder, 62, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2019. He was born May 12, 1956.
A faithful member of the Church of Christ, he was baptized at the age of 13 and went on to be a gospel preacher for 36 years, serving in various communities all of the southeast. He trained young men to be ministers of Christ at the Northwest Florida School of Biblical Studies for 20 years.
A celebrated artist and talented woodworker and a lover of all things nautical, he crafted jewelry boxes from the driftwood he collected by going out onto the river with his father, creating memories he would always treasure.
His character is shown through the home he lived in for the past 15 years, as he was able to combine his artistic abilities with his carpentry skills and work side-by-side with his wife Pam to renovate it into a home that was prettier and safer than when they bought it. His intelligence and creativity worked together to solve uncountable problems and to improve uncountable systems. His dedication to hard work and his appreciation for God, for the simple, the intelligent, the humorous, and the beautiful, made life richer and more beautiful for his wife and daughters and all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his Mama, Helen Rivers Snyder; his daughter, Caitlin and his brothers, Johnny and Tony. He goes to be reunited with all of them in Paradise.
Tom is survived by Pam, his faithful wife and gopher of 42 years; his daughters, Kay, Candice (Ryan), Kathleen (Nicholas), Kimberly and Charlai; grandchildren, Felicity and Brock. He is also survived by his father and his three sisters.
A service will be held on Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at 10:00am at the Church of Christ, 10050 Pensacola Blvd., Pensacola, Florida 32534, with a gathering immediately following the service in the Church Fellowship Hall.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Tri-Cities School of Preaching, 1162 Hwy. 91, Elizabethton, TN 37643.
