Obituary of Jana Boan

Jana Koster Boan October 26, 1954 – September 7, 2018 In the arms of her loving husband, Alan Boan, Jana left this earth after a four year struggle with ovarian cancer. Born and raised in Salida, Colorado, Jana was the daughter of the late F. Wallace and Dorothy Koster. As a Medical IT and administrator she worked at Revenue Advancement and Paraselsus (Houston) and White Wilson and Sacred Heart (Florida). Over the past twenty years, she resided in Florida’s Panhandle after marrying husband, Alan in 1998. Jana was predeceased by her two cherished sons, Christopher Gleason (d.2008) and Patrick Gleason (d. 2016). Jana is survived by older brothers, Bret Koster (Durango, CO), Scott Koster (Millbrook, NY) and mother-in-law, Shelby Boan (Pensacola). Jana led by example, she exuded joy, humor, laughter and genuine compassion for others despite her own unimaginable grief. Jana’s greatest joy in life was on the water - boating, floating, and swimming - with her true love Alan. A memorial will be in Salida, Colorado in 2019. Date to be announced.
