Obituary of Vera Katherine Webb Lindenborn

Vera Katherine Webb Lindenborn, 85, of Pensacola, Florida passed away September 4, 2018. Kathy was born in Meridian, Mississippi in 1933. She graduated from Millsaps College and began her teaching career before moving to Pensacola where she continued to teach, married and started her family before obtaining her masters degree in education from the University of West Florida. Kathy spent the majority of her 42 year teaching career at Sherwood Elementary in Pensacola, where she obtained the nickname “the Dragon Lady”. Kathy was active in many social and charitable organizations over her many years in Pensacola. She was a proud member of Alpha Delta Kappa for many years. After retiring Kathy enjoyed traveling the world with her husband of 57 years, Robert, as well as volunteering her time at Myrtle Grove Methodist Church. Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Edna Webb; her in-laws, L. R. Lindenborn and Idelle F. Lindenborn; her granddaughters, Kaitlyn and Idelle Elaine and her brothers Virgil Taylor and Benjamin Robert Webb Senior. She is survived by her husband, Robert N Lindenborn; her sons Robert B. Lindenborn and Brian Lindenborn; her grandchildren, Blake, Kristina, and Timothy; her great-grandson William; her daughters-in-law Shawn and Krystal; her sisters-in-law, Barbara Webb, Joan Miller, and Judy Bowe; as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends, including her Bridge group of 50 years. Kathy was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and educator. She amazed her friends and family with her ability to manage her career and family, with neither wanting for anything. Her tireless energy and sense of humor will be greatly missed by family and friends alike. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Ronald McDonald House.
