Obituary of Randall Welford

Randall Welford, 59, of Pensacola, Florida passed away Saturday, February 24, 2018. What an incredible life journey Randy had entering into his loving family! As all parents believe, they knew Randy was one of a kind. He loved the Lord, the Florida Gators, the Atlanta Braves and the 2009 Super Bowl Champions- the New Orleans Saints! Born on August 26, 1958 in Baltimore, Maryland to Joe and Joanne Welford, Randall Joseph Welford was the youngest of their three wonderful children. As a son in a military family, Randy developed a love for traveling and seeing new places. From the United States to Europe, Randy had many unique opportunities and experiencing life to the fullest. From the tulips in Holland to the snowy slush in Berlin, Randy enjoyed his life abroad with his family. Back in the US by the age of eleven, Randy became not only a sports fan fanatic but also took up fishing, bowling both at home and in the Special Olympics where he won a silver medal and enjoying the summer camp with the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints for nine years in a row. Randy was always up for going to a game or family outings or just going! Randy faithfully attended the United Cerebral Palsy of Northwest Florida from 1969 to 2013 when he retired from “work”! Randy was preceded in death by his father, Joe Welford and brother, Richard Welford. Randy leaves behind his loving and devoted mother, Joanne; his wonderful sister, Mayla and her husband Lane Shiver; his beloved Uncle Mike and his wife JoAnn Miller and a multitude of relatives and friends who loved and adored him. A special thank you is sent to the wonderful caregivers and friends who have generously helped our family including Dr. Daniel Sears, Don King, Sonia and Jim Barnes, Kathy and Roger Gonzalez, Shirley and Arthur Moore, Patty Lech and Mariah Durant. Randy Welford leaves us with his loving heart, great smile and contagious laugh. His joyful spirit will forever be apart of those whose lives he touched. Visitation will be held from 12:00 to 1:00 pm with services following at 1:00 pm on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at Olive Baptist Church Chapel, 1836 East Olive Road, Pensacola, Florida.
