Obituary of Elaine Delania Grimes

Elaine Delania (Goodwin) Grimes of DeFuniak springs passed away on Sunday, February 4th, 2018 at the age of 66. A devoted mother and grandmother, Elaine was known for her tenacity and indomitable creative spirit. She was an avid painter, sculpture, bibliophile, singer, and published poet. Beloved by many nieces and nephews, she loved sharing great stories with friends and family and will be remembered for the mentorship she provided so many. Elaine was born to parents Delania (Blair) Kaiser and Lloyd Goodwin on July 20th, 1951 in Crestview, Florida. She grew up as the eldest of seven, attended West Branch High School, studied accounting at Kent State University, and was Catholic by faith. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, William Grimes, Mother, Father, and brother Daniel Kaiser. Elaine is survived by her daughter, Josee Wilson; her son, Serge (Shana) Belanger; her sisters, Renee (Rick) Bender, Katherine (Joseph) Dunn, and Shelly (Christopher) Burgess; her brothers, Samson (Marie) Kaiser, Robert Kaiser, Randy (Susie) Kaiser, and Nathan Goodwin and six grandchildren. . The remembrance will be held at a future date.
