Obituary of Robert L. "Bob"  Faxon

Robert L. Faxon, Sr., age 84, passed away peacefully at Sacred Heart Hospital on May 14, 2017 surrounded by his wife and children. He lived in Pensacola, Florida since 1952. He was born in Delphia, Kentucky on May 29, 1932 to Orville and Florence Smith. He was adopted by Lawson Hickman Faxon and Maybell Lyon Faxon at the age of four. Robert spent four year in the Navy, went to ATC School and served as an Air Traffic Controller for forty-five years, which was his passion. The most important thing in his life was his family. Robert is survived by his wife, Betty Adcock Faxon of Pensacola, Florida; two sons, Robert L. Faxon, Jr. (Glenda) of Tallahassee, Florida and Larry Faxon (Lisa) of Cantonment, Florida; five daughters, Janice Faxon of Cantonment, Florida, Donna Carr (David) of Milton, Florida, Patricia Gant of Milton, Florida, Sandra Forester (Ernie) of Cantonment, Florida and Teresa Benauer (David) of Century, Florida; nine grandchildren, Jason Faxon, Devin Faxon, Garrett Faxon-Carmen, Tommy Bedwell, Tabatha Taylor, Stephanie Pittman, Melissa Brooks, David Benauer and Brittney Butler; three great-grandchildren, Joshua Pittman, Bristol Butler and Ryder Butler; brother, Jerome Smith; sister, Juanita and nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend Special Thanks and appreciation to all family and friends for their support at this time, also to the doctors and staff at Sacred Heart Hospital and the caretakers in the Progressive Care Unit. In lieu of flowers, we would appreciate any donations be sent to Victory Life Church's Youth Building Restoration Fund. There will be a Memorial Service on Saturday, May 27, 2017 at 11:00am at the Victory Life Church, 7235 Highway 90 East, Milton, Florida 32583, 850-623-3258 or 850-910-0969.
